Some parts of this book I would consider to be highly unlikely, and perhaps inaccurate, especially the way that some of the main characters experience the Glorious Appearing differently than the others. Some parts like having everyone run supernaturally to get to Jerusalem are probably highly unlikely, but it is very exciting. Other parts like the injured being healed instantly when the Glorious appearing begins is probably very likely.Like “The Remnant” there are really too many characters involved. It can be hard to keep track of them.Since this is the book when the AntiChrist and all other wicked people are finally brought to justice, this makes it very satisfying. But they point out the fact that this is justice, and not really victory or rejoicing.It’s unusual having JESUS involved. It’s one thing to have entirely fictional characters involved, but having JESUS, as well as real angels involved makes it unusual, and somewhat questionable. I think it’s important to remember that this is not exactly how it will go, it will be similar, since it’s based on prophecy, but it may turn out to be significantly different. But for that matter, it’s pretty much the same thing with all of the prophecies that are played in the Left Behind Series.

As I see many who already read the entire series, I too am on my second go-around. This series, and the two authors, never get boring. They have a skill that never leaves you trying to figure out where they are leading. They bring a clarity to the book of Revelations that few can explain. I have already given away the entire first books I purchased and will toward these books again. There is no time that these books do not make a true gift! They can "SAVE SOULS"! What exceeds a gift of PARADISE forever? I am going to now start the Youth Series, before passing them on to my grandchildren! Then I will be moving on to more series by these Gentlemen. The only books that surpass these are the BIBLE itself and the BOOK OF MORMON, another testament to Jesus Christ. TRULY TERRIFIC reads! 😊 😕 😇

I read the entire series more than once and ordered this CD Audio book because I wanted to feel closer to the Lord.I wanted to listen to the experience of something I wait on every day.I think it was too drawn out and lost some of the miracle feeling. But I will listen to it again, because I want to feel the Lord and wait for His soon return

As much as I have enjoyed each of these divinely inspired books, this is the one I couldn't wait to get to. I was raised in church and saved by grace at 16; I have known the joy of living in the center of His will, but I know there have been times I have broken His heart as well. I am far from a Bible scholar, but I have a good understanding of most scripture although I never understood Revelations until I read these books and I praise the Lord for leading me to them. I have heard many excellent sermons on the Rapture and the 7 years of tribulation; to be followed by the millennium reign. As far as I can remember I haven't heard a single message about the glorious appearing and was therefore eager to learn about it from two men I may never have the pleasure to meet, but it is obvious to me that these are men of God working for His glory and to see souls saved. I plan to use all I have learned thus far to help me witness to the unsaved around me. I ask other believers if they have read these books, suggest that they do, and would gladly share my collection with those nearby.

I've read many of the reviews here of both very negative and positive critiques of the reviewers and can honestly say I'm very surprised on how visceral both sides have reviewed this book. I believe many of the reviewers may have lost sight of 'interpretation of factual prophecy' as it is interpreted by authors providing a 'possible' fictionalized future of events that are to come, and began to espouse how incorrect the authors or spot on.Hopefully you'll find my review helpful as far as how the 'novel' is laid out and written as opposed to ones own personal beliefs and interpretations as I suppose we can all agree that the argument of the end times has divided both believers and non believers and the church itself.As a whole, I found the first third of the book very slow at times and random plot threads that seemed irrelevant to both the climax and how the previous novels set forth the action. In it's totality, I honestly believe that a lot of superfluous dialogue and descriptions were overdone and actually detracted from the pace of the book. It may have flowed much better if a good 75-100 pages of 'fluff' with no substance could have been eliminated, but then again, I understand that the authors may felt the need to put out a 400 page novel to match the length of previous installments.My other criticism of both 'Glorious Appearing' and many of the previous novels is what I personally believe as a very overly simplistic writing style that some may find either unrealistic or insulting. Not the content mind you, but interaction and conversations between characters seem to be 'dumbed' down to a sixth grade reading level at times. This may be intentional on the author's behalf as to not alienate a wide demographic of readers by using fancy words. I can understand with a subject matter like this that everyone has an opinion and you are always walking a fine line as to not to overtly offend or ostracize your readers. I believe that both LaHaye and Jenkins truly do care about the salvation of the human race and must make the content easy for anyone to understand no matter their faith. However, this can lend to a child like mentality in dialogue that some more mature people may find difficult to swallow. I kept thinking to myself that no one really actually talks like this. Even Christians that I know do not have this 1950's Leave It To Beaver like sanitized speech. In other words, while I find the story utterly fascinating and compelling, I'm often stymied with the too many 'Gosh darn & golly gee' speeches that just seem to silly.It's these two points which lead me to giving it only three stars. If the dialogue was more realistic and secular it would come across as more intelligent and most likely gain another star from me.As far as content and context to the end times itself and what is prophesized in the bible, I can't find much fault. Though I don't claim to be a theologian or bible scholar by any means, the authors interpretation paints a dim picture for non believers and really gives hope to those believers who have questions. Are the authors actually correct? I suppose only God and Christ know for sure, for it was Jesus who said "Only I know the hour and the day".Speculation of the end times has dated back to almost 2000 years, but the faithful do believe it will happen. This is a taste, a 'what if' novel that we as readers can apply today looking at events and present day technology. Christ tells us to live our lives in a state of being 'ready' for we never know when that day will actually come, and despite the arguing many reviewers have espoused here on fact versus fiction, I think they are missing the point.The overall theme is no matter how you personally think events may unfold, we must make a choice....accept or deny His fulfillment and paying our debt through His grace, love, and mercy.Myself, as a Christian, was scared to read the final chapters. Some have argued that the Jesus presented here is a hateful, mean, unloving person. I didn't get that all....For me it was moving. I am scared because this novel made me look into the mirror at times and my spirit and soul ached not to ever be separated from Christ, whether in the end times or today. I wept for my friends and my family, and even myself. Any novel that can make me look at my own spirit and raise just as many questions about my own eternal destiny therefore transcends just pure entertainment value and has me wanting to make sure I reconnect with our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. I think His love is shown in abundance here as he give the people of this earth chance after chance after chance, and yet they still deny, mock, argue, and trivialize over petty things. The point of the novel was to illustrate these follies and let the reader realize that we are over-complicating our decisions and analysis of these events. This is still a novel after all. In the end, it really is broken down to a very simple choice: we are either accept Him today in faith, or we deny Him.....but we must make a decision, like it or not, as the end times may be here before we know it.

Moltmann is at his best in this book. Some critics have taken him to task on some of his theories, but I found the book a wonderfully rich and enjoyable analysis of hope, the differing views of hope and hope's result, and the root of the book--a theology of hope.The book is NOT for the casual reader. It is single space and packet with material, but every page was well worth the read. I can't say I agreed with every hypothesis presented, but a book of this strength, this thickness (thick in thinking), and wide in its exploration is like so many other books. It is like eating fish, you enjoy the majority of the fish, but there will be a few bones you may wish spit out.For a scholar, teacher, parent, and pastor who wishes to built a structure and philosophy that contains a context of hope. For anyone who wants to understand hope from a western view and eastern view (and even the more central German/Italian peoples who view context and objects as fairly equal in giving or taking away hope).I had heard of the title for years but never got around to reading it until I was doing a series on the subject of hope. Not only are Moltmann's words refreshing and powerful, but he does an excellent job sourcing and quoting from others. My only recommendation might be (this is what I did) to read a couple reviews of the book ahead of time to gain a "picture" of the overall theme and direction of the book ahead of time.

It was good, and full of deep theological meaning.

A good reading if you want to understand about true "hope" (Christ), though I caution you! The book may be difficult for some to read, as the author is quite through in his writing.

This work is a critical companion piece to Moltmann's Crucified God. Very useful for those interested in natural theology, pre-Christian saving energy, or natural salvation energy. Critical for those researching God's saving dispositions throughout history, as Moltmann explains how God and the Spirit can save anyone, anytime, before or after Christ - although this salvation energy is intended to prepare the world for Christ. Slow going,but this is the type of work where you struggle to figure out what NOT to underline. I read and reread and referred to this book so many times (in researching my own book), that my edition of Theology of Hope literally fell apart from over use. That is the sign of a very good book. A theologian could write volumes built on this work. You could write a book just based on one paragraph of this book. It is that profound, that potent, that dense. Although sometimes it feels like you are walking in neck-deep molasses with concete shoes! Be sure to bring a snorkel.

moltmann is one of the great theological thinkers of our time. This book explores the embodiment of hope in the christian proclamation. Superb example of the interdependence between orthodoxy and liberation theology. Strong biblical exegesis. insightful and stimulating.his book "the crucified God" is a double must read.

I dove into this book immediately as it was a reference in another resource. It most certainly has fulfilled my expectations.

Its an excellent and invaluable reference book. I mostly appreciate the manner in which the topics were organized from the perspective of the franchisor and from the franchisee. It made finding the topics quickly. The book covered the nature of franchising, the accounting and audit issues, samples of footnotes. The information adnd explanations were concise. If you perform audits or review engagements of franchisor or franchisee, this is a must have reference book and a tremendous time saver. It's size is compact that you can actually use it out in the field. The cost is reasonable and it arrived in a timely manner for free shipping. It gave me what I needed to perform an audit of a small franchisor. The only complaint is that the front cover tended to curve out. A hard cover would be a nice touch.

This book didn't stop on a cliffhanger, so much as feel like the writer put her pen down and wandered away. I enjoyed the storyline and the characters. We gradually get to see what makes them tick. The sex scenes were erotic which was great. Many authors fail at that, making them unintentionally hilarious. I won't be reading more of this author's work however. I much prefer to read a whole story rather than part of it.

This is a uniquely crafted story. I love the take on Mother Nature. The sex is hot, the violence surprising, the relationships are beautiful.Having said all that, it hasn't hooked me. It's not a lack of talent, it just didn't hook it's claws into me. I don't know what to say, because it's a good book.I'd be happy to check out other series by the same author.

Great quick read. It's a new twist on the supernatural world. Highly recommend if you enjoy sci-fi/supernatural books. Can't wait to start the next book.

Weird is about the only word I can use to describe this. I'm not sure I really liked this book, more like I liked the characters, and yet not them together? Lost? Ok let me break it down, we meet Sophia who mutes out other supernatural magic, a curse to her but a god send to those who are suffering. We meet one who can hear everyone's thoughts, and it brings in serious health issues, pretty much killing the poor guy, so once it finally stops when the brown headed girl shows up he right away connects them at the hip, he does w.e to be near her for this peace he's finally found, now this goes on to the next guy, and the next. You get the picture, what's hard to understand is how they come to a relationship? It's not cause the actually care about each other, but because they can't go back to how bad their lives once we're, and they continue to say this much throughout the book. They all are in it for something and it's kinda disturbing. Sophie is very weird, she starts fires, or rather mother nature does inside her, which is kinda mind boggling since I don't really consider fire starting a nature thing? Anyways, the way it's described in this read translates to more of a pyromanic. I mean she's killing ppl by burning them alive, whoa nature chick, I'm on the verge of considering this women is more demon possessed. Also the crying was to much, the feeling sorry, and the horrible nicknames in the book are just horrible. There is no character build, I have no idea what anyone really looks like, more the lines of cheap descriptions, I need more? Long story short very odd book with odd characters, odd powers, pretty much all around odd.

I really enjoy reading Fire Possessed!Sophie have been living her life among the mortal world as her powers won't harm them. Her unique abilities to silence the power around her, she have been avoiding the magical world to prevent havoc around the other supernaturals.But Mother Nature has a different plan for her. She pushed Sophie to do her bidding,, having no choice, Sophie heads to Twin River. When she arrives, Sophie expected people to treat her like her powers were a cursed, but instead four men sees her arrival as a true blessing; a remorseless vampire, Valor; Hagan, a bear shifter who's shifting abilities is uncontrollable; a psychic Carrigan who can hear peoples thoughts and Jonas who has suffered through many losses which makes him jaded.The men are drawn to Sophie and the chemistry between them is sizzling hot! What a great story line, the characters are unique and full of depth, I love the storyline and what a cliff hanger! I can't wait to read the next book!

Billed as a “full length reverse harem urban fantasy adventure”. What isn't mentioned is that it just abruptly ends with no resolution to the plot. Grr.Now that that gripe is out of the way. It's really the only gripe I have. Well, that and the cover, which looks like it belongs on a completely different book. I can't even begin to picture Sophie dressed the way the cover model is. Anyway, I used to read a lot of paranormal, and got a bit burned out on it. But the synopsis for this book sparked my interest as it sounded a bit different. And it very much is. In the world of this book, there are magical creatures, most of whom live in Twin Rivers. Sophie is a witch, but her magic is quite different than other witches, in that when she is around, other's magic disappears. Obviously, this makes her presence a bit unwelcome to others in the magical community. So Sophie's father raised her away from Twin Rivers, in a community where magic is unknown.Sophie has a connection to Mother Nature that I'm still a little unclear about. Mother Nature uses Sophie for her own purposes, and if Sophie refuses her bidding, Mother Nature retaliates by, say, burning her house down in the middle of the night. Mother Nature wants her to seek out a mage in Twin Rivers who can restore a lost river. So off Sophie goes, where one by one she meets up with the four men who I guess make up the “reverse harem”.I was a little afraid that this book was going to devolve into just a bunch of sex scenes between Sophie and the four men, with some loose storyline to connect them (I'm looking at you Anita Blake!). I'm happy to report that did not happen. In fact, there's not really any sexual action until midway through the book, and did not involve every character. But even then, the story still took precedence. The connection between Sophie and each of the other characters was clear, or if not clear at first, became clear as you learned more about the characters. And the characters are well written. Of course they are all quite different from each other, what with one being a shifter and one being a vampire. A couple of the men do not make good first impressions, but as the author peeled away the layers of their personalities, they become more liable, more vulnerable, and more welcome to the party.I read this book in two sittings. I probably would've read it straight through in one sitting if company had not shown up at my house. It did start out a little slow, but once Sophie met the first two men it picked up with some of the dialogue making me laugh. Also, I was on page 75 when it suddenly hit me that the narration is in present tense. My least favorite tense, and I didn't even notice until 75 pages in! Score one for the author, and I look forward to Book Two.

As a police officer I just went through a major shooting incident. As I read this book, Col. Grossman went through it with me. He described to a tee every emotion I experienced. Reading this book was extremely helpful.

Lt. Col. Grossman's systematic and thoughtful study of why people kill -- and why they do not -- is important. His analysis on the role of conditioning on overcoming the natural resistance to killing another person provides helpful insight into how and why American society has become increasingly violent in recent decades. The last few chapters, which takes the lessons learned in the rest of the book and applies them to American society, ought to be required reading for those who insist on blaming the tools of violence for the existence of violence.Thanks, Lt. Col. Grossman, for studying this topic with such rigor and for explaining your work so cogently.

In 1969 I enlisted to do my Patriotic Duty, and chose to be an MP while performing that duty. I was in Vietnam (25th Inf Div for the first 14 months) from January 1970 to March 1972. After the first few months I surely had a monster case of PTSD because that was about when everything began to seem “normal”, but there wasn’t a term for it back then. When I came back from Vietnam my enlistment was up. I got off the plane (Flying Tiger airline), received a meal involving a very tough steak, and was essentially told to “go home and be normal”. My brother, now a retired Marine, had done his tour in Vietnam. I got a job where he worked (he later re-enlisted and completed his 20 for retirement). Several other employees were also Vietnam vets but we never talked about it.My job involved hard labor and was just what I needed because I really wasn’t fit for polite society for the first year. After a year and a half I applied at several local law enforcement agencies and was hired by one with Civil Service. While working full time I also went back to college and got my degree in Criminal Justice. The image of the Vietnam Vet back then was of a deranged person who climbed onto a rooftop and started shooting people. I didn’t discuss Vietnam, or my recurring “Vietnam Dream”, with anybody. I needed the job, I liked the job, and I didn’t want people to think that I was crazy. Frankly, I wasn’t totally sure that I wasn’t, at least to some degree.After about twenty years on the dept, and I was a Lt. by then, I was assigned to attend a seminar on Deadly Force and Pursuit Policies. One of the instructors was a Psychologist who covered the symptoms of PTSD. I suddenly realized that after my return from Vietnam I had fit the profile perfectly.After retirement I was a Federal Courthouse Security Officer for eleven years. Another CSO had a copy of “On Killing” by Lt. Col. David Grossman and I read it, several times. Since then I have purchased my own copy, twice. I think that Grossman got it about 90+% right. I am not going to pick the book apart because, as Jesus warned, “while you are pulling the weeds, you may root up the wheat with them”. Also, I could be in error about that other 10%. Every time I read the book I learn something new, or relearn something I had forgotten. I recommend this book most highly to every combat veteran and law enforcement officer!

An interesting study on killing during war, from the Civil War to the present. Contrary to what one sees through Hollywood's eyes, there is an extreme reluctance for one human being to kill another, even in time of war. Further, the author's findings help explain PTSD, a frequent result found in our combat veterans. Then applied to our society's current ills, he identifies the logical explanation for random mass murders and other mayhem. Overall, it's a thought-provoking read.

This is required reading in military leadership courses and extremely insightful. I would strongly recommend this book for any service members (I'm a retired Soldier), law enforcement, or psychologists and clinical social workers (my wife is an LCSW) who work with military or law enforcement. I read this book after my second combat deployment when I had a lot weighing on my mind and it really put things into prospective for me.

As a combat veteran from RVN and a career Infantry Officer I found this read to be interesting and should be reading for young men and women thinking about going into the service, especially one of the combat arms and for the spouses and partners of military members. His references gave the book credibility. Enjoyed the book.

This is subject that people need to know. I see the comments when a robber is killed by a shop keeper. They are all excited about a bad guy biting the dust. The shallow idiots never think about the effect on the shooter. This should be required reading for all Hollywood producers. I have heard him speak and he really understands the world as it really is not as we want it to be. Worth the time to read. We are surrounded by killing on a daily fact of life. it seems like a good idea to understand this aspect of life.

I like Dan Kennedys stuff, but same message repackaged in a different format. Dan Kennedy is the master of taking the same material and repacking it 2831 ways. But if you haven't read his material this is as good as any.

Detailed, direct, filled with decades of experience. The NoB.S. series is excellent. Wow. This book kept me so engaged I completed it in two sittings within a 24 hour period. This is the fourth book in the No B.S. series I have read. While it is not his best, I still think the book is worth reading.This book is about how all types of businesses can use direct marketing as one of their marketing strategies. The book is divided into three sections, The Foundation, Case Studies and Resources.In typical no B.S. Dan Kennedy fashion, the author lays out direct marketing rules and fundamentals in the first section. The case studies were written by business owners who successfully used direct marketing tactics to grow their business. The section is divided into the retail, restaurant, professional practice, sales and service sectors, with one or more chapters devoted to each sector. As I read each case study, I reflected on how I might utilize, in my own setting, the strategies and tactics being presented. While most of the case studies offered value and were worth reading, there was at least one where I felt the chapter was nothing more than a pitch fest for the author's direct marketing system.If you are already using direct marketing, read this book anyway. I bet it will help you be better and more successful at it. If you are new to the concept of direct marketing, this book will serve as a great introduction for you.I got several great ideas from reading this book. I am glad I read it and I bet you will be too.

I've been a follower of Dan Kennedy for awhile when I wanted to learn the art of copywriting. I rediscovered his direct marketing materials through this easy to read book. You will find more than nuggets in this book but a goldmine of information about the discipline of direct marketing. Dan is an expert guide on how to use and apply it and provides some excellent practical case studies on its implementation.For the $12 you pay it's a steal. Even if you only get one or two ideas that you feel are good for you you'll be ahead of the game, but I'd wager you'll not have time to implement everything you'll discover here. Choose wisely.Do not expect this book to "crack the code" of weaving social marketing into Direct Marketing. Dan is skeptical of value of social marketing for a local business using direct marketing - check out work of Kim Walsh-Phillips who has worked with Dan's company on cracking the code for them using Facebook. But start with this book first to learn the basics and the ground rules.Dan makes frequent mention of his other books as providing more information to a specific topic discussed. Is this marketing his other books within his books going to offend some people? Possibly, if you object to an expert marketer doing what he preaches to others, and still providing value at the same time. Those critical of this strategy miss the point altogether.Dan always offers great value in his products - even those costing many hundreds of dollars - but for this price you can't go wrong.

I am a big fan of Dan Kennedy, and his books, and in case someone is in doubt - the history of my pathetic reviews for other books are just there. But i must admit, that not this one. This one is far from best, and in case you are looking for first book in BS series - DO NOT choose this title, as you will have wrong perception, what are the pure winners of no BS series.For those who have a number of Dan books - i need to warn you, that this volume is not written by himself, but similar to Wealth Attraction - by his friends and partners.Each of them wrote his own chapter - some of them more honest, some of them - as pure & and I will not afraid this word - disgustingly unmasked sales letter style like for example Mr Rory Fatt with his hype of himself and his restaurant marketing system. Instead of sharing ideas, this guy wrote long sales which says something like - your restaurant sucks, i know it looser, and if you want to know what to do - here is a my bank details where you can send a money for consulting. Phui!Hey! such a feeling that Kennedy were so busy, that even did not read himself, what his proteges wrote under his own name!

Meh... my fault for ordering this book. The title was so da** long that I didn't get to the part where it says, "...for non-direct marketing businesses". Difficult to read, didn't hold my interest and is already in the bag to donate to the local thrift store.

Julius S. Scott is a professor of Afroamerican and African Studies at the University of Michigan.Marcus Rediker is Distinguished Professor of Atlantic History at the University of Pittsburgh and Senior Research Fellow at the Collège d’études mondiales in Paris. He is the author of numerous prize-winning books, including The Many-Headed Hydra (with Peter Linebaugh), The Slave Ship, and The Amistad Rebellion. He produced the award-winning documentary film Ghosts of Amistad, about how the Amistad Mutiny of 1839 lives on today in popular memory among the people of Sierra Leone.
