It's really great to have 5 tests to practice with, but the timing was off (they gave you WAY more time in certain sections than you actually have considering the rate you need to work on the actual GED). As other people have mentioned, the tests are much shorter than the actual tests, so you don't really get a feel for the full length test either. I also noticed that the science and social studies sections throw in more questions that require independent knowledge than the actual test does (which is more about reading comprehension).
I was anxious to start utilizing the practice tests. Since math was not my strongest suit, I decided to start with math to assess my weaknesses. With the first practice test I came upon some irregularities. There were two math problems that I got wrong that were actually right. Yes, that's right, the Princeton Review had chosen the wrong answer. I was stunned! I took the book to my math instructor and had him do the problems. He confirmed that in both cases, The Princeton Review was blatantly and obviously wrong in choosing from their own multiple choice answers. The correct answers were listed, but not the ones chosen as the right answer.I have given them 3 stars instead of 5 in my review because of the errors. If you are trying to study for the GED without benefit of an instructor, these errors could have been the difference between passing and not passing the math test. I am grateful that the practice tests were available for purchase, but clearly The Princeton Review needs better editors and quality control.
Overall this a good way to prep for the GED test. One of the problems though is that there are a lot of typos in this edition and some of answer key is actually wrong, I'm using this to help my brother prepare for the test, and the typos have made it a bit more difficult than it needs to be.
Very useful in getting a grandson through the GED exams. He was a smart enough kid - just a disinterested student. This book helped a lot!
Is helpful with those preparing for the GED instead of finishing high school; good for Rtc facilities and working with adolescents
It did have 5 practice tests with answers and explanations. However, it seemed to go farther than the GED tests do and we wasted some time studying things that were not necessary to know.
I found the book hard to use because it lacked knowledge I needed. Not having this knowledge made it impossible to answer questions on the tests
