Helen is president of Health Literacy Consulting, founder of Health Literacy Month, and producer/host of the podcast series Health Literacy Out Loud. Helen brings clinical experience, educational training, and patient perspective to all her work. She speaks about health literacy at conferences worldwide. She also serves as a plain language writer/editor on a wide range of health-related documents, websites, and video scripts. Anyone who is a patient, or works with patients, will learn a good deal about what they can do to make signs in waiting rooms, brochures on the wall rack, or a doctor's written instructions easier for everyone to understand. As the title claims--extremely practical and useful book.
